Day 1: Chandigarh to Shimla (115 kms / 4 hrs)

The journey to Shimla by road starts early in the morning. On arrival in Shimla, check in to your hotel.

Later in the day explore the quaint hill station which still retains the colonial charm of the erstwhile British era.  Spend your time on the Mall, the Ridge, St. Michael’s Church, visit the viewpoints around town like The Glen, The Annandale, The State Museum.  One can also visit the Sankatmochan Temple (7 kms), Kamna Devi Temple (11 kms) or Tara Devi Temple (14 kms).  The temples are located amidst forested areas and the views from here of the town and beyond are spectacular. You can visit Lakkar Bazaar which is popular for its wood crafts and souvenirs.

Day 2: In and Around Shimla

After an early breakfast you can visit some of the following places:

Mashobra (10 kms / 30 mins): At 2149m, this beautiful suburb is surrounded by thick forests. From here, a track leads down to Sipur which is an exquisite glade shaded by ancient deodar trees. There are old temples a fair is held every April.

Kufri (14 kms/ 45 mins): At 2501m, this is famous for its panoramic views and ski slopes. An enjoyable walk leads up to the Mahasu Peak.

Fagu (18 kms / 1 hr): At 2510m, Fagu has some enchanting views.

Chail (45 kms / 2hrs): This was a former Summer Capital of the Patiala State. The Palace has been converted to a luxury hotel by Himachal Tourism.Return to your hotel in the evening.

Day 3: Shimla to Kullu (200 kms / 6 hrs)

After an early breakfast, you will be transferred to Kullu. The mesmerizing drive will take you through the core of an intricate web of numerous valleys, each of which is a visual delight and seems more beautiful than the other. Check in at your hotel in the afternoon.

In the evening enjoy the pleasure in every step you take in these enchanted valleys and in every gurgle, you hear in the clear mountain streams.  Popular places which you may like to visit are:

Raghunath Temple: In the 17th century, Raja Jagat Singh of Kullu committed a great wrong and to atone the sin, he got a statue of Lord Ragunath (Lord Rama) from Ayodhya and built the temple.

Bijli Mahadev Temple (14 km): At 2460m, this is set on a spur and offers spectacular views. The temple is famous for a high staff that periodically draws lighting which shatters the Linga. Using only butter as adhesive, the Linga is then pieced together by the temple pandits.

Basheshwar Mahadev Temple Bajura (15 km): One of the most charming temples in Kullu, this is renowned for its intricate stone carvings.

You can also visit the Vaishno Devi temple (4km), the Devi Jagannath Temple at Bekhli (5 km) and the Vishnu temple at Dayar (12 km) are other important shrines around Kullu. All the temples are set amidst picturesque settings of the Kullu valley.

Day 4: Kullu to Manali (40 kms / 1 hr)

After breakfast start your journey back to Manali and on arrival check in to your hotel. Later embark on sightseeing of this picturesque town which retains the old colonial charm in its architecture and ambience. 

You can also trek to the nearby temples of Hadimba, Manu, Vashisht&Jagatsukh which are within a few kilometres from the city centre and then enjoy the evening at the Mall before returning to your hotel.

Day 5: Excursion to Solang Valley

After breakfast visit Solang Valley which is situated 15 km from Manali.  A heaven for snow lovers, the spectacular valley comes to life in the winter with ski dominating the winter sports spectrum. 

The training institute offers ski lessons to beginners.  Enjoy the full day in the valley and even moreif you visit during the snowfalls. In the evening return to your hotel.

Day 6: Excursion to Rohtang Pass (52 kms / 2 hrs) (*)

After an early breakfast, proceed to Rohtang Pass (subject to road conditions & permit availability). Rohtang Pass is arguably the high point of any trip to Manali.  Covered with snow for most part of the year it is a visual treat. In the evening return to your hotel.

Note: Rohtang Pass is open to tourists from May to November. It is closed on Tuesdays.

Day 7: Manali to Chandigarh (310 kms / 9 hrs)

After breakfast check out from your hotel and start on your onward journey to Chandigarh.
