DAY1. ARRIVAL – LUANG PRABANG – CITY TOUR

Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. 

Later, set out for a short city-tour, which includes the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham and Wat Mai Temple.

Climb up to the top of Mount Phousi to explore the sacred stupa as well as enjoy a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. 

From there, you might take a stroll through the Night Market, where you can find a lovely selection of handmade textiles made by the hill tribe and local people of Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

DAY2. LUANG PRABANG – CITY TOUR

After breakfast, visit The National Museum at the former Royal Palace, which displays a lovely collection of the artifacts reflecting the richness of Lao culture. Continue to explore some of the major sights in this fabulous city, including the city’s oldest temple of Wat Sene, the magnificent Wat Xiengthong. One of the main reasons to visit this place is its remarkable exterior architecture.

Afternoon, embark on a cruise on the Mekong River, which offers a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside as well as explore the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, two linked caves crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by pilgrims. 

Along the way, stop at the village of Ban Xang hai, where they make the local rice wine.

On return, take a short drive to Ban Xangkhong, a village well known for its silk weavings and for its Saa Papermaking. Also visit Ban Phanom, a small village known for its hand weaving.

Overnight in Luang Prabang.

DAY3.LUANG PRABANG SIGHTSEEING

An optional early start gives you the fantastic opportunity to participate in the daily morning rituals of saffron-clad monks collecting offerings of Alms from the faithful residents.

As you amble through the Phosi Market, you will see diverse offerings such as dried buffalo skin, local tea, Handmade Weavings, etcetera are sold.

Visit the local villages of Lao ethnic minority groups at Ban Ouay, Hmong Village, Ban Ou, Lao Loum Village, Ban Thapene and Khmu Village.

Then drive to the beautiful Khouangsi Waterfall where you can cool off with a refreshing swim in the turquoise pools or walk along the forest trails.

Return to the city by late afternoon to observe the sunset at Wat Phabath.

DAY4. LUANG PRABANG- PAKSE – WAT PHU – SI PHAN DON

After breakfast, free time until transfer to the airport for your flight to Pakse.

On your arrival in Pakse, you will be met by our representative and transferred to Champasak District. Visit the ruins of Wat Phu Temple Complex. Explore the intriguing Khmer ruins which are perched at the base of Mount Phu Kao.

Wat Phu is one of the Lao World Heritage sites recognized by UNESCO in 2001, this wonderful archeological site of Khmer civilization dates back to the 9th century, predating the famous Angkor Wat in Cambodia.

Then continue your journey to 4000 Islands Region and Khong Island. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at Khong Island.

DAY5. SI PHAN DON SIGHTSEEING

After breakfast, enjoy a visit to the surrounding countryside, and embark on a long tail boat tour to Don Khone. You can disembark form the cruise and avail the option of exploring the island by bicycle, which takes you to visit the Liphi Waterfall or "the Corridor of the Devil".

Return to the mainland at the fishing village of Ban Nakasang and drive further south to visit Khone Phapheng. Khone Phapheng is considered the largest waterfall by volume in South East Asia; this is an impressive site near the Lao-Cambodian border, set within an area, which is teeming with wildlife, making this area one of the most breathtaking destinations in Laos. 

You also have the option of hiring a local boat out to search for the rare freshwater dolphins that reside in this area of the Mekong. Drive back to Khong Island for your overnight stay.

DAY6. SI PHAN DON – PAKSE –DEPARTURE

Breakfast at hotel. You will have free time until your transfer to Pakse airport for your departure flight.
