


Day 1: Arrival and transfer to Gangtok
On arrival at Bagdogra Airport / New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station, board your vehicle for a drive to Gangtok. Arrive at Gangtok the Capital of Sikkim, located at an elevation of 5700 ft and check in to your hotel. You may like to visit M.G. Marg, the shopping & eatery hub of the town or just idle around the quaint and vibrant town. Overnight at Gangtok.
Day 2: Excursion to Tsongmo Lake & Baba Mandir.
After an early breakfast start on a full day sightseeing trip to Tsongmo Lake (approximately 40 kms ) which is on the road to the Indo-China border. This lake, pronounced by many as 'Chaangu Lake', is fed by the melting snows of the adjoining mountains.
Enjoy a Yak ride around the lake and then proceed to Baba Mandir which is a further 10 Km towards the border. Baba Mandir, located at an elevation of 13100 ft is dedicated to Harbhajan Singh, a Major of the 23rd Punjab Regiment of Indian Army who died at the age of 26 during an encounter with the Chinese Red Army. Legend has it that he was drowned in a glacier while leading a column of mules to ferry supplies to a border outpost. The shrine was built in his honour and common belief is that his spirit protects the Indian soldiers in this hostile terrain.
Return to Gangtok by evening. Evening is free for leisure followed by overnight stay.
Day 3: Gangtok to Lachen
Today after an early breakfast you will start for your tour of North Sikkim. The first part of the journey will be from Gangtok to Lachen (120 kilometres and 6 hours). Be mesmerized by the sheer scenic beauty.
Enroute stops to visit Tashi View Point, Seven Sisters and the Naga Water Falls.
Take a break in your journey to rest and have lunch and be on your next drive all the way to reach Lachen situated at an elevation of 8800 ft in the evening.
Check in to your hotel and stroll around in the tiny town. Spend the rest of your night at the hotel.
Day 4: Lachen to Lachung via Gurudongmar Lake*
Early in the morning, start on a 'once in a lifetime' journey to Gurudongmer Lake.
Ascend uphill and reach Gurudongmer Lake - located at an altitude of 17800 ft, this lake is arguably the most coveted destination in Sikkim. From end of December to mid March, the lake remains frozen and the entire region receives very heavy snowfall sometimes cutting off the roads and making it inaccessible. From here you will return to Lachen.
After breakfast, check out and start on your drive to Lachung situated at 8000 ft which would take one and half to two hours, depending on road conditions. On arrival, check in at your hotel and have the rest of the day to yourself in this quaint town. Overnight at hotel, looking ahead to another stupendous day.
Day 5: Lachung to Yumthang Valley
After breakfast, start for an excursion to Yumthang Valley. One of the most beautiful places in Sikkim, this valley is a riot of colours in the spring, for which it is fondly known as the Valley Of Flowers. The visit to the Rhododendron Sanctuary and the other attraction of the place – the Hot Springs, are every tourist’s delight. Spend your day in heavenly surroundings before you return to Lachung for the night.
Day 6: Lachung to Gangtok
After breakfast start on your journey back to Gangtok. Reach Gangtok in the evening, check in to your hotel and catch your breath after a stupendous experience up in North Sikkim. The evening is free at leisure. Overnight at Gangtok
Day 7: Gangtok to Pelling via Ravangla
After an early breakfast, check out and proceed to visit Ranka Monastery, Do Drul Chorten & Rumtek Monastery.
Later you will be transferred to Pelling, a journey through a verdant scenic route. On arrival, check in at your hotel and then proceed for local sightseeing, covering Rimbi Waterfalls & Rock Garden, Kanchendzonga Waterfalls, Khecheopalri Lake, the Rabdentse Ruins and Pemayangtse Monastery. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 8: Excursion to Yuksom
After breakfast, proceed for a day’s excursion to Yuksom - a village located at an altitude of 5840 ft and is the starting point for some of the most renowned treks like Goechla Trek, Dzongri Trek. It also serves as the base camp of Himalayan Mountaineering Institute for treks to Mt. Kanchenjunga. Enjoy being with nature and unwind in the serenity of the magnificent surroundings. Return to your hotel for overnight stay.
Day 9: Departure from Pelling
Checkout after breakfast and embark on the return journey to Bagdogra Airport /NJP Railway Station for your onward journey.
*Trip to Gurudongmar lake is subject to road conditions.
