Phuntsholing (2N) - Thimphu (3N) - Paro (2N)

 

Day 1: Arrival At Bagdogra Airport and Transfer To Phuntsholing (160 km / 5 hrs)

On arrival at Bagdodra Airport you will meet our representative and transfer to Jaigoing. On arrival at Jaigoing, Indian border town, you will be assisted to process your route permit from the Bhutan Immigration office after which you will be transferred to Phuntsholing. On arrival check in at the hotel and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight stay in Phuntsholing.

 

Day 2: Phuntsholing – Thimphu (145 km / 5 hrs)

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and proceed to Thimphu. Pass through hills and some astounding countryside with lush green valleys and densely forested areas.

Continue your journey through the tropical vegetations till Gedu town offering one of the best sceneries of waterfalls and lush valleys. Drive pass through Chapcha village and gradually descend to Chunzom the confluence of Thimphu and Paro River. Continue your journey following the Thimphu River upwards.

On arrival in Thimphu, check-in at the hotel and the rest of the day is free at leisure.

Day 3: Thimphu Valley Excursion

After breakfast, proceed for Thimphu Valley Excursion covering – Kuensel Phodrang, the Buddha Statue, the National Memorial Chorten. Later visit Art and Craft School.

In the afternoon visit Takin enclosure to see the National Animal of Bhutan and visit the Textile Museum. Later visit Tashicho Dzong. Rest of the evening is free at leisure.

Overnight stay in Thimphu.

 

Day 4: Thimphu Valley Excursion

After breakfast, proceed to visit Takin enclosure to see the National Animal of Bhutan and visit point of Thimphu valley dotted with prayers flags.

In the afternoon proceed to visit Art and Craft Institute, Textile Museum, and walk through the main street of Thimphu. Evening is free at leisure.

Overnight stay in Thimphu.

 

Day 5: Thimphu – Paro (50 km / 2 hrs)

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and proceed to Paro. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Later in the afternoon, proceed to visit Paro Dzong. Rest of the evening is free at leisure.

Day 6: Paro Valley Excursion

Option 1:

After breakfast , proceed to the north of Paro valley to Ramthangkha and hike to visit Taktsang monastery. This monastery is one of the most venerated and sacred of all Buddhist sights around the world. After visiting the monastery, walk down to cafeteria for lunch. Later in the afternoon walk down to the base and proceed back to hotel. Rest of the evening is free at leisure.

Overnight stay in Paro.

Option 2:

After breakfast, proceed for the full–day excursion to Chele La pass (13084 ft.), the highest motorable road in Bhutan which takes around 3 hrs. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Mount Jhomolhari and Jichu Drakey on a clear day.

Take a short hike along the ridge of Chele La pass to see the stunning views of Himalayan peaks and views of Ha and Paro Valleys. Later in the afternoon, visit Paro Rimpong Dzong (heaps of jewels). Later proceed back to the hotel. Rest of the evening is free at leisure.

Day 7: Paro – Phuntsholing (145 km / 5 hrs) 

After breakfast check-out from the hotel and prooceed to Phuntsholing passing through hills and some astounding countryside with lush green valley and densely forested areas. On arrival check-in at the hotel and visit Kharbandi monastery. Rest of the evening is free at leisure.

Overnight stay in Phuntsholing.

 

Day 8: Phuntsholing – Bagdogra Airport (160 km / 5 hrs)

After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and proceed to Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey.
